How to safely delete the object from transport task

SE03

Sometimes we come across the scenario where we need to remove objects (Program/table def/data element/domain) from the transport due to some reason. This can happen in following scenarios:
1. Requirement change
2. Wrong object was changed and locked rather than the actual one

In both of the above cases, we do not want to move the object in next system so they are supposed to be removed from the transport. This can be done by unlocking the transport task from the T code SE03. Below are the steps to be followed

Step – 1 Make sure to revert all the changes we have done in the objects which we are planning to remove from the transport. This is to ensure the consistency across the landscape.
Step – 2 Go to the T code SE03 and go to Unlock Objects (Expert Tool)

Step – 3 Give the transport number and execute.

Step – 4 Click on Unlock button.

Step – 5 Our transport task is unlocked. Now go to SE09 and open the transport by double clicking on it. Select the rows/objects which we want to delete from the transport and click on Delete Rows button

Step – 6 Select all the remaining objects using the select all button and lock them using lock button.

Step – 7 Finally save the transport.

We have successfully removed Data Element – ZWAGE_CAT from the transport.

Note: If we do not have any other objects to be locked in the transport and it is no longer required, then we can delete the transport.
